ABSTRACT

A female patient of 80 years old presented in the consultant room in Saddam Teaching Hospital/Najaf, on 23rd August 1993,complaining from hemoptysis of one month duration. Examination of throat revealed that a leech was fixed in oropharynx of the patient on the vallecula. Then the leech was removed out by a surgical method

ABSTRACT

The viability of hymenolepis nana eggs under environmental factors [temperature in moist and dry conditions] was studied. The optimum viability was 10°C in moist and dry conditions and for period ranged between 1-4 weeks. The viability was gradually reduced and didn't persist for more than two weeks at temperatures of 5°C and 30°C and no eggs remained viable at 40°C. This study was accomplished in August 1994
